My views on major issues as requested by you the public.
Terrorism:
My views on terrorism, well I like most Americans believe that the threat is real and that we have to take a pro-active roll in dealing with it. I have stated all along I WILL not end the War on Terror, until it is won or the radical islamists surrender. I would immediately after the Inauguration call General Petraeus and give him a field promotion if allowed. Then tell him to remove the gloves and finish this war. I don't give two shakes what the rest of the world thinks about us. I think about what the citizens of this nation think of us. I will work with the true Allies of this nation.
Iraq:
I will make our presence permanent in Iraq. We would have a Life time treaty with the Government of Iraq to allow us to have 4 military bases in the country. For both their defense and middle east peace. From these bases we could and would protect any nation needing our help. And be with in hours of striking distance of countries who aggressively attack or show aggression to any other middle east nation.
Home Land Security:
When the homeland security department was established I was all for it and still am. I think it made a lot of sense to put all Intelligence departments under one leader. That being said I do see a need of minor adjustments. I wont call it changes. I think the Bush Administration has done a poor job of keeping the general public aware of the need for alarm and vigilance in safe guarding our families. We have seen NO major and only a few minor infringements on any ones rights, through the steps the HSD has been using to safe guard our borders.
Jobs:
The job market has slowed a little lately. The housing industry has been hit as my son and I know being were in the housing industry indirectly. I believe keeping the taxes low and working with companies to keep them from moving jobs out of the country is the way to add jobs. Jobs have been on the rise and the unemployment rate has never been lower in the last 40 or so years.
Immigration:
I have stated regularly, how I feel about immigration. I believe we need to close the southern border especially. Long enough to get a grip on the flow of illegal aliens and to start the wall. Then we round up the illegals who are here, and before we ship them back to their home countries we first take photographs, finger prints, and make sure their not a violent offender. If they are violent we make sure they serve their debt to society. After that we ship them back to there home country and make sure they do not re-enter the USA before everyone who has been waiting years to enter legally. As far as legal immigration I believe we need to continue at the present structure of not allowing to many in at anyone time.
Human Rights:
Human rights is a difficult area to establish a guideline for. That being said, I would set up a committee to investigate every country we do business with or have strong relationships with. If we find that any gross mistreatment or slave trade is being done in these countries we either give them time to fix their problems or stop trading or diplomatic affairs with them. Until such time as we believe they have done what we see as being needed before re-establishing connections with them. China, Saudi Arabia are just two we should start with. Don't get me wrong we can't dictate to the world what a country does inside their borders. But we can't sit back and neglect things either. If a country is receiving any from of financial aide, we should use this aide as a tool to help redirect a countries human rights.
Health Care:
I have stated many times I don't believe in, nor would I sign a bill in to law that is calling for National Health Care. It doesn't work in any country its been tried in. Canada, France, Britain, Cuba. First most of the good doctors leave the countries rather than being told what to practice or how to do their job. Then all the rich people in these countries either get special treatment or go to other countries for treatment. When a country does try it the waiting time for the basic normal surgeries Sky rockets. Their countries where its normal to wait from 6 months to a year or more for elective surgeries. This doesn't even mention the fact it drains the government's financially.
Stem Cell Research:
I believe we need to fund and push for Stem Cell research. But I am dead set against Embryonic stem cell research. There has been NO results from the embryonic research so far. Adult research has been documented to have very promising results. President Bush was the first president to fund any type research in stem cells. I would also say NO to funding the embryonic research since I believe life begins at conception. Thou making it murder to do the research.
Big Pharmaceuticals:
I have been asked if I would make Big corporations like Oil and pharmaceuticals to Pay extra taxes or to raid their profits! The answer is NO. I would push to end federal dollars to their research. Let them pay for research their selves. I firmly believe that we need to stop asking or making the government to fund everything. There was a time when companies paid their own bills and made the profits when they made sales at the cash register. Bill Clinton tried to make the manufacturer's of the flu vaccines in the early 90's to cut their profits, oops back fired. The companies moved out of the US and now their are fewer companies making flu vaccines and none of it is made here in the USA.
Education:
I have stated clearly I believe the first step to solving the problems with Education is to get rid of the Tenure of teachers in any form. Every teacher should be reviewed yearly. This would include random Drug tests, Class room and age level capabilities. We need to make schools safer for everyone. There is a clear problem that teachers are as subject to violence at schools as are the students. I also believe that teachers (man or woman) should be prosecuted for any sexual misconduct. Teachers should also not be involved with girl students seeking either advice or clear help to get an abortion with out parental consent to allow them to get involved.
Environment:
First I do believe we need to protect the environment. BUT I don't believe in the concept of global warming or that man can in any direct way cause the demise of the Earths environment. We should do what we can to protect the earth and to save natural resources. GOD will take care of the rest.
War on Drugs:
Wow, now that's a hard question. What do we do about an industry that is based on illegal crime. People have asked me would making medical marijuana legal or other drugs help with drug problems. My reply is NO. It might help with safer manufacturing and less violence from the drug cartel's. But making them legal is out if the question. The reason is if we did make them legal and even if we could control the peoples use of them to when their not driving or working. We still would see a major problem of Doctors prescribing them to just about anyone. We see this demonstrated in the sedative and steroid industry. Prescriptions are handed out to anyone if they need them or not.
Veterans:
I would say safe guarding our veterans should be a major top 5 priority of the congress. Unfortunately it's not. When ever you feel thankful for your freedoms. (don't matter which ones just pick one). Our Military veterans are the ones who got them for you. I never try to let a day go by when I know I am talking to a veteran to thank them for what I have. My Dad, Brother, and Daughter have paid a price to give us our freedoms. No they didn't die in combat. I mean anyone who served helped pay for our freedoms. I believe it's despicable when anyone of our congress says a bad word about our troops and NO I DON'T believe you can support the troops and not their mission. They rarely have a choice when their deployed to pick or choose.
Abortion:
I have said and Never will change my views ABORTION is murder. I am pro-life. I would sign legislation to give the choice back to the states. Roe vs Wade was a flawed case to start with and the Judicial branch should interpret the law not re-write it or mandate it. The Constitution stated the Judicial branch is to over see the preservation of the Constitution not change it as it has done or tried to do in the past 240 years.
Public Safety:
We have been very lucky so far not to be attacked on our soil again. I intend to see it stays that way. I would support and encourage more and stronger communications between the CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, and all local, and state governments. To work WITH, not against each other, to protect our shores and nation from any further attacks by radical islamists. We need to look at bringing back the old civil defense system from the 60's and make it work for the current world problems.
Judges:
This is a two fold Answer. First: I would appoint justices to the Supreme Court that are going to strictly support and follow the Constitution as written. Not to try to re-write it because they feel it doesn't work for them. If Congress rejected or turned down a vote on a judicial appointment the next appointee would be more conservative and more strict when following the Constitution. and the next and the next even more strict. Second: I would appoint a special US Attorney, who's only basic JOB would be to over see all prosecutions of Judges, Attorney's, States, Mayors, Companies, and banks, and landlords who refused to enforce Immigration Laws as they are written today. Or who feels they don't need to enforce them or says come here we will give you safe haven.
Fiscal Discipline:
As I have said before, I will be known as the Veto President. I will veto any budget with excessive spending. I would make the Congress over ride it if they want it their way. Then we would let the people decide come the next election if they like their way or my way. To me excessive spending is any budget sent to my desk as President that is over the budget the previous years. I would discuss and think about budgets on a case by case basis. It would not be out of the Question to allow a budget with up to 2 or 3% extra. If it could be proved it was necessary and prudent.
Cutting Taxes:
I would fight to keep the Tax incentives President Bush put in place. When I first wrote my Pledge and Platform, I said I would try to close the IRS and I was in favor of the Flat Tax. BUT I have since been shown what I thought the Flat Tax did, I was mistaken about. So now I support closing the IRS and Going with the Fair Tax. The Fair Tax is a nationwide Sales Tax. It would be used to replace the Current IRS system because most states already have a sales tax system in their states. With the exception of 3 states. This way every citizen pays taxes and they only pay if they buy things. There should probably be a tax break for those below the poverty line. This would as explained to me do away with the income tax as we know it. And help the Social Security system and the Welfare system as well.
Second Amendment:
I have made it very clear I support the right to bear arms. I would go one step further I would ask for a law that anyone over 18 that wants to were a GUN openly can and will have a federal right to bear arms. I believe if everyone wore a gun there would be less crime not more. I believe if an armed criminal entered a store or bank to rob it and saw 4, 5, or 6 armed people in the store or bank they would think two or three times about the robbery. I believe if we banned guns the only people to have guns would be the criminals.
Marriage:
I won't beat around the bush. I believe the Bible says "a man shall leave his mother and father and become one with his wife(female)". I do not support gay marriage and I would never sign a bill allowing it to be legal in the whole country. I also would not sign a bill making states recognize the few states that do have gay marriage laws. I think the civil union clause covers the problems that arise from two of the same sex who want to get benefits or access to hospital rooms.
I hope this settles any doubts, if anyone sees any other issues that need added to this list just speak up.
